It's National No Make up Day!!

But I'm still wearing make up today x

Apparently 98% of women say they can’t live without make-up

Statistics from an Online Opinion Health Survey, among a group of 3,500 people…

  • Women spend on average £9,000 on make-up in a lifetime (Superdrug).
  • A third of men said that what they hated most about make-up was ‘the time it takes to put on’
  • 55% of women listed dark circles under the eyes as what they disliked most about their face without make up

Are you bare faced today?

Amazing Spray.....

Tigi Catwalk has a New Collection - It's a collaboration with Christopher Kane!
There is a whole host of amazing products but I'm using the Look Lock Hairspray from the Sleek Mystique Straight Collection.
The products in this range have lovely ingredients such as Dragon Fruit, Honeysuckle, Bamboo and Lychee.

The spray it's self, obviously, is a professional product so its not sticky or harsh and it completely undetectable.

It's super lightweight yet has amazing hold (I sprayed my short fringe back and it held all day)
It's touchable and (brushable )
It smooths and adds shine
It resists humidity (so no frizzing up)
and it has a beautiful spiced jasmine fragrance (which actually is a very nostalgic smell, must be similar to a perfume I used to wear)

I love the nozzle, it gives a really light mist, and the slim can for good grip!

London Fashion Week...Mark Fast....

For the Mark Fast show @Somerset House Sharon Dowsett pulled us aside and told us the brief - sheep in wolf's clothing and that the girls have been running through the woods crying.

Sharon's first assistant Caroline Collon drew up some initial ideas.....

The look changed a little bit and was altered accordingly.......

The show was sponsored by Maybelline New York so thats what we used!
Again, I used Avene skincare on my models to prep their skin. Maybelline eye shadow in Cosmic Black (the black side. black shot through with silver glitter) was buffed into the inner corner of the eye, up to the brow, and through the outer corner. A little along the bottom lash line and some clear gloss over the lid.

Cosmic Black Baked Duo by Maybelline New York

Maybelline Dream Creamy foundation was used and a gorgeous sheer plum lip stick pushed on with finger tips. The pink side (goldy, pinky plumy shade) of the shadow was used just over the eye bag to create a tired look. Then we finished with a little Avene water spray over the eyes whilst the models scrunched them up - this creates a worn in, slightly messier, inky look.

The hair, created by Neil Moodie and his team, using Bumble and Bumble products, was a lot of twisting and pinning - I'm gonna try this with my hair, I think it looks gorgeous!

I loved the collection, it was so beautiful, especially on the slightly bigger models

Well done Mark Fast and everyone involved!!

Thanks Sharon for having me on your team

London Fashion Week.....Triumph....

I assisted the lovely MUA Lucy Burt for Triumph Lingerie at London Fashion Week @Northumberland House. Lucy designed a sexy navy blown out smoked eye for the girls, to match their big soft sexy hair.

I prepped my models with Avene skincare, then we gave them a light sheer base using MAC Face and Body.

The eyes were started with Groundwork Paint Pot by MAC right up to the brow and a little bit of Quite Natural just in the crease and along the lash line.
Using a fluffy brush we buffed MAC Contract eye shadow over the outer section of the eye and in the crease. A little along the bottom lash line along with a navy pencil gently blended.

To emphasise the crease we added a loose dark blue pigment, again on a fluffy brush. Added huge MAC false lashes no:42, a dab of Creme Cup lipstick and a swipe of Taupe blush to contour.

Thanks Lucy and her great team x

Rapid Lash.... Bigger Better Lashes?.....

I just wanted to quickly post this.
I've been using the RapidLash Eyelash Enhancing Serum for 8 weeks, as advised, and I personally haven't seen any difference. Now, I've read a lot of reviews and it seems that 50% of people using it are having amazing results and 50% haven't seen any. This is obviously to do with the condition of your lashes originally.

My lashes are naturally very curled, quite long but not very thick. I was hoping that RapidLash would make them look thicker but this hasn't happened for me. People who have poor lash condition or have damaged their lashes with extensions, picking mascara off or generally being to rough with their lashes, will probably see an improvement - either with length, thickness, fullness or strength.

I did actually have slightly swollen eyes every morning and slight reddening of the skin where I had applied RapidLash. Again these side affects seem to be happening with some people and not others. I generally have very sensitive skin so I was expecting a little irritation.

I think it's worth a go if you think your lashes aren't at their full potential. As the results are so mixed, you could be one of the people it actually really works for.

It's a shame it didn't work for me but every one's lashes are different and I know it's producing amazing results on other people and I'm sorry I can't be more specific on who it will work for.
