Happy Valentines Day x

Today is a day for RED lipstick!

My all time favourites reds are -
MAC Ruby Woo Matt, blue red

Lime Crime GLAMOUR101 satin, brown based wine red

Giorgio Armani Rouge dArmani 401 Satin, tomato red (less pink than shown)

Illamasqua Ignite - Matt, bright orange red. (more orange than shown)
and if you don't have one, go and buy one today! x

If your nails are long enough, why not try a little red heart on every nail tip.

As Valentines day is a normal working day, I thought these were a great idea to pop round your coffee and have at your desk or in your hand, you could even pop them round your juice glass at breakfast.

Getting There....

We decided on charcoal grout for the bathroom tiles - not grouted yet but the decision is made, thats basically half the job done! As you can see, we went for the brickwork layout, it looks great.

This wall was full of ugliness and celcon bricks, so we covered it and boxed it - still not finished but looking much better.

My temporary wardrobe over in the kitchen area, as you do.

A generally cleaner area to sleep in.

We found these guys up on the ceiling covered in paint, so I cleaned them up to discover they are beautiful ceramic, we shall we use.

Oooo I've just seen Catwalk by TIGI's SS12 Trend Overview!

So what's the plan for our summer hair?

The 2012 London Olympics obviously haven't stared yet but apparently the anticipation of this global sporting occasion together with a futuristic mood has had a huge influence on the shows of SS12.

Here's what I've heard -
Sport Tech is very much in fashions' DNA this season with designers from Versus to Helmet Lang describing an athletic modern theme.
The Look - Streamlined styles, wet looks, aerodynamic finishes.
KEY PRODUCTS - Catwalk by TIGI Session Series Wet Look Gel and True Wax

Versus @MFW - Hair by Paul Hanlon and TIGI Creative Team

Faster by Mark Fast @NYFW - Hair by Nick Irwin and TIGI Creative Team

Retro-Spective, for a new riff on the past, designers looked to key style decades from the last century to re-interpret iconic looks. The 1920's provided a deep vault of ideas with art deco design details.
The Look - Roller set hairstyles, cartoonish quiffs, rough textures.
KEY PRODUCTS - Catwalk by TIGI Session Series Transforming Dry Shampoo, Work it Hairspray and Salt Spray.

Mark Fast @LFW - Hair by James Pecis and TIGI Creative Team
(I worked on this show)

Chris Benz -Hair by Nick Irwin and TIGI Creative Team
(Love this)

New Knots - Handicrafts and tribal influences unite to weave together a host of multicultural threads that add to fashion's decorative palette this season.
The Look - Knotted, twisted and braided
KEY PRODUCTS - Catwalk by TIGI Session Series, Work it Hairspray and Transforming Dry Shampoo.

Christopher Kane@LFW- Hair by Anthony Turner and TIGI Creative Team
(So sweet)

Mara Hoffman@NYFW - Hair by Nick Irwin and TIGI Creative Team

Naive Nonchalance - This S/S ingenue is young angelic, all sweetness and light, pastels, floral motifs and the kind of short lengths that only the very young can get away with. This crystallisation of a new ideal of fresh, youthful femininity translates into 'un-do's' that are easy to create.
The Look- Easy breezy unstructured and loose
KEY PRODUCTS USED - Catwalk by TIGI Session Series Finishing Hairspray, Work it Hairspray and salt spray.

J Mendel @NYFW - Hair by Paul Hanlon and TIGI Creative Team

Kristian Aadnevik @LFW - Hair by Nick Irwin and TIGI Creative Team
(I saw this show)

Very exciting - I'm gonna rock the 'New Knots' and a bit of vintage softness from 'Retro - Spective'.

Would you be interested in a 'HOW TO' for any of these looks?

Laura Mercier Spring 2012 Collection - Lingerie.....

Perfect for a Valentines gift!

I love this visual, it's so feminine and soft, natural yet provocative.

You guys know I love Laura Mercier products and this palette is yet another must have item.

Laura Mercier Lingerie Eye and Check Palette £41.50

This is a great palette for everyday looks, it's full with wearable colours and also has a little more edge so you can bump it up a little. This is also perfect for Make up Artists out there, for brides, all in one palette- less to carry. I'm going to use this on my next few jobs and I'll take pictures of the looks, it's simply going to be wasted on swatches. So check back for that x

These are the other goodies, lips- all part of the same collection.

This is the Eye Basic in Tawny, which is a primer for the eye shadow, they come in a variety of colours but this one gives that great slightly sepia feel, it's quite similar to MAC Groundwork Paint Pot. It's just perfect for these types of looks.

The Sheer Lip Colour in Kissed Lips, is the perfect warm pink colour, it's sheerness is great for that pop of colour without feeling made up, without having to worry about your lipstick all day -  £17.00

The two glass pots are Lip Shines - Naked Apricot is the sheerest peachy nude tone and the other is Tempting Coral. Temping Coral isnt quite as strong as it looks in the pictures, but definilty has more depth than Naked Apricot. They both have a tiny amount of glitter running through them, super soft and super easy to waer. Both £18.50 each

Creme Cheek Colour in Innocent Peach, I have about 5 similar so I left this one in the shop. They are all gorgeous though and are also £18.50 each.

It's a very romantic, beautiful collection, perfect for Valentines (and spring, of course)

If you're in the UK you can have a look here at Liberty
or here at Space NK

The 'Pro Make up Shop' have 35% off....

I haven't had a bathroom now for coming up to a month, it feels like a really long time. I'm missing that empty time one spends in the shower, even just to wash my wash alone would be nice.
This looks like heaven x

Just booked a little trip to spain with some lovely friends
This is it, obviously

Have you seen what's happening with TIGI Bed Head?

They've only gone and launched a Bed Head Street Squad!

The Street Squad are an awesome creative collective reporting back on all things worth reporting on!

Here's their blog, check it out, these kids are popping up everywhere, you cant miss them.

Here's what TIGI have to say -

I actually had the great pleasure of being taught by the lovely Lucy Wearing, so for me she's heading the team -

I went along to the launch at The Hoxton Pony to meet the team, everyones fab, everyones excited and everyones got something to say - There's great things to come!
